According to DIRECTV’s channel guide, Fall Out Boy will soon appear on the late night talk show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’. They are scheduled to perform Wed. Feb. 13. The band has not released a statement confirming or denying the end of their four year hiatus, though a few weeks ago the social media world was set ablaze when rumors started to emerge that the quartet would be playing the Skate and Surf festival. That was squashed when Joe Trohman, guitarist, tweeted, “The rumors are still untrue, unreal & totally outta this world! *shreds gnar, does surf’s up hand signal* Seriously, it’s not going down.” These mixed signals have had fans on a roller-coaster of emotions and completely confused by the situation. No one really knows if the band is throwing their cap back in the ring, but if they are, perhaps their first song played post-hiatus should be “The Take Over, The Breaks Over.”
Update: Early this morning the band tweeted, “The future of Fall Out Boy starts now.” The tweet also had a link to their website with an official statement that the band has come out of hiatus and will be touring this summer. You can also listen to their new track ‘My Songs Know What They Did in The Dark (Light Em Up)’. Catch them in Florida this June at the Orlando House of Blues or the Fillmore in Miami.
