New Politics have been the opening act for years. So when it was announced that they would finally embark on their first headliner fans ate it up. Hitting the road with them were Magic Man and Sleeper Agent.
Up first was Sleeper Agent who have one of those vibes that keeps everyone moving. Their music is a great mix of punk and indie. And even though front-woman Alex Kandel voice was starting to go she managed to keep the crowd hanging on every word.
Magic Man kept up that energy and good vibes with their laid back fun pop tunes. It was difficult at times to hear them over the squeals for the lead singer. But aside from all of the young girls screaming, MM put on an amazing performance. Their music is catchy and very fluid.
Lastly New Politics took the stage and from start to finish the three members were smiling and thanking the crowd for their support. There were multiple times when singer David Boyd would immerse himself in the crowd and let them take over singing. Of course there was the usual break dance routine and head standing, but I think everyone was more excited to hear what they would
play next. Which was most of their first album and a few song off of their new release ‘A Bad Girl in Harlem.’ They even came back and obliged the crowd with a three song encore.
If you missed it you can catch NP on tour with Fall Out Boy and Paramore this summer.
