Circa Survive made their first stop at The Beacham in Orlando last month to support their new album, Violent Waves. Lead singer Anthony Green is known and loved for his loud and unique voice (along with an energetic stage presence), but anyone who has ever bumped into him while he’s not performing knows that he has another side to him. When he’s not on stage, Anthony’s a very calm, soft-spoken guy who is very approachable and easy to talk to, and always has positive words and encouragement to offer in exchange for the love that his fans show him. He sat with us for a few minutes before the show to talk about the new album, new music video, the process of making the new album, and Circa’s decision to release it completely on their own. Watch our video interview with Anthony, and read the transcript below!
SpaceChime is an interactive and generative music controller meant to bring a calming sense to the user, much like doing Yoga or Tai Chi. The movement of the box corresponds to various parameters controlling the sound you hear, creating a relaxing environment created by your own movement.
Here are a few videos from a few weeks ago at Baroo’s in Indialantic, FL. The special occasion of the night was Better Way Forward singer Ryan Crum’s birthday. It wasn’t a huge crowd, but Better Way Forward fans always do their best to show huge support. Quite entertaining was Ryan’s bright white formal vest glowing in the black light. After you watch the videos, be sure to check them out on Facebook to get updates on their next show, where you can buy their new EP!
The Harmony Riddle is a new group from the Cocoa area that has gaining a fair amount of attention on the Space Coast, playing a number of shows in the past few months, in venues from Titusville to Indialantic. Their style is a tasty blend of indie and folk with a splash of punk rock. I found it interesting that their name is a play on lead singer Natalia Harmon‘s last name. The “Riddle” part came from a former member’s last name as well. However, as this video shows, they are still pretty impressive as a 3-piece. Check them out on Facebook to get updates on local shows, and their upcoming EP.
